„For me, photography is a way to create a certain idea, a concrete feeling, or even a more complex interplay of form and colour, in the light of my experience gathered over time.“
Stephan Weixler, born in 1981, is based in Graz, Austria. He works with digital photography as well as with analogue cameras and techniques. Depending on the concept, Stephan uses different materials and printing techniques. The most extraordinary one is the on-wall photography, where the wall is the photography’s substrate and the room acts as a frame.
„Images can create an unspoken context, just as language can also generate images.“
In his diploma thesis, Stephan examined the communication of images in combination with language using linguistic description methods. After completing his studies, he attended the Academy of Applied Photography in Graz.
